Ifo Business Survey for April 2003

Author

Listed:
  • Hans Günter Russ

Abstract

According to the latest results of the Ifo Business Survey, there are no signs currently of a quick economic recovery. In western German manufacturing, the cooling-off continued. This is particularly the result of the much more pessimistic appraisal of the business outlook, but also the current business situation was judged as a little more unfavourable than in the previous month. In eastern Germany the business climate stabilised at the previous-month level. The business situation appraisals were somewhat more unfavourable but the expectations improved slightly
