Abstract

Der Artikel thematisiert den Zustand der finnischen Wirtschaft im Jahre 1998 und im Frühjahr 1999 in einem Querschnitt. 1998 hat sich die Konjunktur nach dem vorangegangen Boom zwar abgekühlt, aber den vorläufigen Berechnungen zufolge war die Zuwachsrate des realen Bruttoinlandsprodukts mit 4,7% aber die höchste aller Industrieländer mit Ausnahme Irlands. Die Arbeitslosenquote sank weiter, blieb aber mit 11,4% noch über dem westeuropäischen Durchschnitt.Im Frühjahr 1999 dürfte die konjunkturelle Verlangsamung zu Ende gegangen sein. Die Ausfuhr gewinnt allerdings erst im weiteren Jahresverlauf wieder an Tempo. Das Bruttoinlandsprodukt dürfte sich um knapp 2,75% erhöhen. Im Jahr 2000 dürfte sich die konjunkturelle Erholung leicht beschleunigen. Für das reale Bruttoinlandsprodukt kann mit einer Wachstumsrate von knapp 3,5% gerechnet werden. Die Arbeitslosenqoute könnte von dem Frühjahrswert 1999 von 10,25% im Jahresdurchschnitt 2000 auf 9,75% sinken.
