Abstract

Das ostdeutsche Baugewerbe steckt mitten in einer tiefen Rezession. Die Betriebe, die sich bis jetzt am Markt halten konnten, dürften allerdings die schlimmste Phase des Anpassungsprozesses an ein mittelfristig stabiles Niveau überstanden haben. Obwohl die eigenen Investitionsausgaben der Baufirmen 1998 mit 1,74 Mrd. DM nur noch etwa 40% des Werts der Jahre 1992 bis 1994 erreichten, ergab die Auswertung des ifo Investitionstests, daß die Unternehmen Ende letzten Jahres für 1999 nochmals eine leichte Einschränkung auf 1,7 Mrd. DM vorgesehen hatten.
