Ostdeutsche Baunachfrage ein Jahrzehnt auf Konsolidierungskurs

Abstract

Das ifo Institut hat 1998 zum erstenmal eine langfristige Prognose zur Bauwirtschaft Ostdeutschlands publiziert. Die Berechnungen ergeben für das Jahr 2008 Bauinvestitionen von knapp 81 Mrd. DM (in Preisen von 1991), das wären etwa knapp 26 Mrd. DM (in Preisen von 1991). weniger als 1997. Der starke Rückgang vor allem im Nichtwohnbau mag zunächst sehr pessimistisch erscheinen, verschiedene Vergleichsrechnungen zeigen jedoch, daß die Entwicklung durchaus plausibel ist. Zum Beispiel erreicht danach das Bruttobauvermögen je Einwohner in Ostdeutschland im Jahr 2008 bereits fast drei Viertel des Westniveaus (1992: 42%).
