Osteuropa : textile Aufsteiger mit Problemen

Abstract

Die Textil- und Bekleidungsindustrie besitzt sowohl für die Bewertung des wirtschaftlichen Zusammenbruchs im ehemaligen Ostblock als auch für Impulse beim Wiederaufbau nach der politischen Wende einen besonderen Stellenwert. Einerseits hat das Ende der Planwirtschaft gerade in diesen Sektoren der Leichtindustrie die Mängel der großen Kombinate offen gelegt. Andererseits erwiesen sich die billigen Arbeitskräfte und Investitionsförderungsmaßnahmen als Magnet für ausländische Unternehmen sowie Lohnarbeit aus Westeuropa und Fernost. Im Zuge der Privatisierung haben sich die Standorte weiter differenziert und mehr nach Osten hin verlagert.
