Abstract

Am 19./20. Juni 1998 trafen sich die Mitglieder der EU-RECONSTRUCT-Studiengemeinschaft zur Sommerkonferenz in Lissabon. Die aktualisierten Prognosen für die 15 beteiligten Länder (EU ohne Griechenland und Luxemburg plus Norwegen und Schweiz) ergeben, daß das Bauvolumen 1998 deutlich stärker steigen wird (+ 1,6%) als im Vorjahr (+ 0,7%), daß aber erst 1999 mit einer Expansion des Bauvolumens um 2,3% auf 763 Mrd. ECU zu rechnen ist. Vor allem bei Hochbau-Bestandsmaßnahmen, Wirtschafts- und Tiefbau werden höhere Zuwachsraten erwartet, der Wohnungsneubau und der öffentliche Tiefbau wirken jedoch weiterhin als Wachstumsbremse. Die - nach wie vor sehr große - Entwicklungsspanne der einzelnen Länder vermindert sich und die Vorausschätzungen für 1999 haben in fast allen Ländern (Ausnahme Norwegen) ein positives Vorzeichen.
