Hongkong : erste Feuerprobe nach der Wiedervereinigung

Abstract

Hongkong hat sich den die südostasiatischen Märkte erschütternden krisenhaften Entwicklungen nicht entziehen können, wenn auch das worst-case-Szenario, die Auflösung der Anbindung der nationalen Währung an den US-Dollar, die seit 1983 besteht, bislang verhindert werden konnte. In dem vorliegenden Beitrag wird aufgezeigt, inwiefern die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung in Hongkong durch die Krise in Ost- und Südostasien im allgemeinen und die Verteidigung der US-Dollar-Anbindung im besonderen beeinflußt wird.
