Internationale Patentanmeldungen : globale Positionen und strukturelle Anpassungssreaktionen

Abstract

Die Patentanmeldungen der deutschen Industrie im Ausland bleiben seit Jahren hinter den Aktivitäten der Konkurrenten aus den USA und Japan zurück. In der Strukturberichterstattung 1995 hat das ifo Institut nach Erklärungen für diese unbefriedigende Entwicklung gesucht. Der vorliegende Beitrag fragt nach den Veränderungen, die nach Ablauf von zwei Jahren zu beobachten sind, und wendet sich in einem internationalen Vergleich der Patentperformance der größten Patenanmelder zu. Der Text geht auf die Position Deutschlands im globalen Wettbewerb und auf den Strukturwandel in der Industrieforschung ein. Bei der Darstellung der Anpassungssreaktionen der aktivsten Patentanmelder wird ein Branchen-Technologieportfolio verwendet, welches den Forschungsschwerpunkt der entsprechenden Unternehmen darstellt.
