Abstract

Das ifo Institut hat im Auftrag des Bundeswirtschaftsministeriums für 155 Länder die Kaufkraftparitäten und auf dieser Grundlage die Pro-Kopf-Einkommen im Jahr 1994 ermittelt. Während das Einkommensniveau der Entwicklungsländer auf der Basis der Kaufkraftparität teilweise erheblich höher ist als bei Umrechnungen über den Wechselkurs, ist bei den meisten Industrieländern eine entgegengesetzte Entwicklung zu beobachten.
