Die Agrarwirtschaft wartet auf die Verwirklichung der Europäischen Währungsunion

Abstract

Während Manager von Industrie-, Bau- und Handelsunternehmen der Europäischen Währungsunion mit - eher zunehmender - Skepsis entgegensehen, lassen die Stimmen aus dem landwirtschaftlichen Berufsstand und der landwirtschaftlichen Fachpresse erkennen, daß die EWWU uni sono herbeigesehnt wird. In dem Beitrag wird versucht, auch den mit den spezifischen Problemen des Agrarsektors innerhalb der EU weniger vertrauten Lesern zu erläutern, warum sich die Landwirtschaft in die vorderste Reihe der Befürworter der Währungsunion begeben hat. Dabei wird - erfreulicherweise - auf eine ausführliche Darstellung des agro-monetären Systems und seiner zahlreichen Veränderungen im Zeitablauf verzichtet. Die Auswirkungen dieses Systems werden vielmehr am Beispiel des für die deutsche Agrarwirtschaft wichtigen Handels mit Italien veranschaulicht.
