GUS : in den zentralasiatischen Staaten verstärken sich die Anzeichen für eine allmähliche Stabilisierung

Abstract

Die fünf zentralasiatischen Länder, Kasachstan, Usbekistan, Kirgistan, Turkmenistan und Tadschikistan, bilden ein Areal von fast 4 Mill. km mit einer Gesamtbevölkerung von etwa 55 Mill. Einwohnern. Der Reichtum der Region an mineralischen Rohstoffen konzentriert sich auf Kasachstan, Usbekistan und Turkmenistan. Seit 1991 hat sich die wirtschaftliche Lage in der Region erheblich verschlechtert. Nach ersten Erfolgen bei der Preisstabilisierung im Jahre 1994 konnten vor allem Kasachstan und Kirgistan im Jahre 1995 weitere Fortschritte erzielen. Parallel dazu haben sich die Produktionseinbußen in Kasachstan abgeflacht und höhere Rohstoffexporte bereits partielle Waschstumsprozesse ausgelöst.
