Außenhandel : nach Zusammenbruch erste Anzeichen der Erholung

Abstract

Das Volumen der ostdeutschen Importe ging nach der Wirtschafts- und Währungsunion 1990 drastisch zurück. 1994 lag es bei nur einem Viertel des Niveaus von 1989. Hauptsächlich verursacht war diese Entwicklung durch die stark geschrumpfte Produktion und den damit einhergehenden gesunkenen Bedarf an Investitionsgütern und Rohstoffen. Hinzu kam eine Verlagerung der Konsumentennachfrage auf westdeutsche Produkte. Der Einbruch bei den Exporten erfolgte 1991 nach dem Auslaufen verschiedener Sonderregelungen. Die Ausfuhren in die ehemaligen Staatshandelsländer, den zu Zeiten der DDR mit Abstand bedeutendsten Absatzmärkten, sind zwischen 1990 und 1994 um über 80 % zurückgegangen, in Milliarden DM ausgedrückt bedeutet dies einen Niveauverlust von rund 25 Mrd. DM. Die Exporte in die übrigen Ländergruppen sind dagegen nur um rund ein Zehntel gesunken.
