Abstract

Der Konjunkturbericht über Italien beschreibt zunächst das soziale und politische Umfeld, das weiterhin im Zeichen des Übergangs von der Ersten zur Zweiten Republiksteht. Die Parlamentswahlen im März 1994 zeigten eine tiefgreifende Unzufriedenheit der Wähler mit den bisherigen Parteien. Die neue Regierung unter Ministerpräsident Berlusconi forciert die Sanierung der Wirtschaft. Die Maßnahmen sollen die auf haushalts-, steuer-, und arbeitsmarktpolitischen Gebieten getroffen werden und eine marktwirtschaftliche und liberale Linie betonen. Die Wirtschaftsentwicklung wird über die Kennzahlen reales Bruttoinlandsprodukt, privater Konsum, öffentlicher Verbrauch, Export, Import, Arbeitslosenquote usw. analysiert. Gestützt auf Graphiken und Tabellen werden die Entwicklungen für 1994 und 1995 prognostiziert. Dannach war der Tiefpunkt der Rezession Mitte 1993, mit anschließender konjunktureller Erholung im Jahr 1994. 1995 wird sich das Wirtschaftswachstum noch einmal verstärken. Die Geldpolitik bleibt stabilisierungsorientiert, die Finanzolitik strebt einen Konsolidierungskurs an. Die Teuerungsrate wird weiter sinken. Schlechte Aussichten herrschen mit einer Arbeitslosenquote von 11,6 % auf dem Arbeitsmarkt vor.
