Abstract

Das ifo Institut veranstaltete am 17. März 1994 ein Symposium, auf dem sich 35 Experten aus Wissenschaft und Praxis mit dem Problemkreis "Wachstum und Beschäftigung" auseinandersetzten. Der Bericht stellt einige einführende Thesen von Prof. Dr. K. H. Oppenländer vor. Die sich bessernde Konjunktursituation muß durch eine strukturelle, mittelfristige Wachstumspolitik unterstützt werden, soll die Arbeitslosigkeit wirksam bekämpft werden. Diese Wachstumspolitik beinhaltet die Abkehr von einer falschen Strukturpolitik und die Hinwendung zu einer wirksamen Industriepolitik; sie unterstützt wachsende Felder und leitet eine Bildungsoffensive ein. Diese Wachstumspolitik umfaßt auch eine europäisch ausgerichtete Infrastruturpolitik im Verkehrssektor, im Energiesektor im Telekommunikationssektor; sie verursacht einen Innovationsschub. Diese Wachstumspolitik wird unterstützt durch einen Technologierat, der Visionen liefert, und der über breite Information und Diskussion zur Verminderung der Technikfeindlichkeit in der Bevölkerung beiträgt.
