Was verdienen selbständige Künstler?

Abstract

Die Untersuchung des Jahres 1991 befaßt sich mit der Einkommenssituation der selbständigen Künstler und Publizisten zu Beginn der neunziger Jahre. Die wirtschaftliche Situation der Künstler, die auch im langanhaltenden Aufschwung der achtziger Jahre in vielen Fällen unzureichend war, gerät erneut unter Druck. Das durchschnittliche Jahreseinkommen betrug 19.170 DM. Besonders schwer ist die Situation für Berufsanfänger. Weiter wurde festgestellt, daß Frauen deutlich weniger als ihre männlichen Berufskollegen verdienen. Mit zunehmendem Alter steigt das jährliche Einkommen. Dennoch sind fast ein Viertel dieser Berufsgruppe zur "Selbstvermarktung" gezwungen. Allgemein wurde festgestellt, daß die Künstler im Tätigkeitsfeld Wort höhere Jahresarbeitseinkommen erreichten, während die Künstler der Bereiche Musik und Bildende Kunst unterdurchschnittliche Jahresarbeitseinkommen erzielten. Im Bereich Darstellende Kunst war die Einkommenssituation lediglich für Berufsanfängern besonders ungünstig. Zur Verbesserung der Situation sind Förderungen durch den Bund sowie durch Unternehmen unabdingbar.
