Sachsen im europäischen Standortwettbewerb

Abstract

Als "Pluspunkte" Sachsens hob Prof. Dr. Oppenländer die "Dichte der Wissenschafts- und beruflichen Bildungseinrichtungen", die "Verfügbarkeit qualifizierter Arbeitskräfte" sowie die "Zugriffsmöglichkeiten auf produktionsnahe Dienste" hervor. Zu den Schwachstellen gehörten noch die sog. "weichen Standortfaktoren". Mit Prof. Biedenkopf war er sich einig, daß für ein innovationsfreundliches Klima nicht nur Investitionen in die "Hardware", sondern auch in die "Software" notwendig seien, wozu auch eine aktive Jugend- und Kulturpolitik gehöre. Im Wettbewerb zwischen den FuE-Standorten habe Sachsen zwar in Ostdeutschland die besten Voraussetzungen, im europaweiten Vergleich müsse es aber erst noch Profil gewinnen. Dazu könne die Gründung eines Technologieparks beitragen.
