Kasachstan - Wirtschaft im Umbruch

Abstract

Das ifo Institut untersucht die Wirtschaftslage in Kasachstan. Die Republik stellt mit 17 Mill. Einwohnern, der zweitgrößten Fläche und dem dritthöchsten Sozialprodukt der GUS einen wichtigen Wirtschaftsfaktor der ehemaligen Sowjetunion dar. Der Rohstoff- und Ressourcenreichtum des Landes ist durch Raubbau und Fehlnutzung heute allerdings auch zu einer Belastung geworden. Recht gute Zukunftschancen hat die Erdölwirtschaft, auf die in dem Beitrag etwas ausführlicher eingegangen wird. Die Probleme, die sich aus der Überalterung der Anlagen in fast allen Wirtschaftssektoren ergeben, werden jedoch auch mit Hilfe umfangreicher Investitionen kaum in wenigen Jahren überwunden werden können.
