Die Entwicklung des Großhandels in den neuen Bundesländern

Abstract

Bei der Untersuchung der Veränderungen im ostdeutschen Distributionssystem wird dem Großhandel besondere Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Die meisten im Großhandel der neuen Bundesländer tätigen Unternehmen sind Neugründungen oder Zweigniederlassungen westdeutscher Unternehmen. Sie haben einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Herausbildung wettbewerbskonformer Distributionsstrukturen in Ostdeutschland geleistet. Während sich der Produktionsverbindungshandel in Produkt- und Leistungskonzept schon stark dem westdeutschen Erscheinungsbild angenähert hat, ist die Konsumgüterdistribution auf der Großhandelsstufe noch durch wesentlich größere Disparitäten gekennzeichnet als in Westdeutschland. Im Rahmen der weiter fortschreitenden Neustrukturierung werden sich wahrscheinlich teilweise modernere und (kosten-)effizientere Distributionsformen herausbilden, die sogar Leitbildcharakter für die alten Länder haben können.
