Der Werkzeugmaschinenbau : Eine Wettbewerbsanalyse für die gesamtdeutsche Branche

Abstract

Die deutsche Werkzeugmaschinenindustrie hat in der Vergangenheit technologisch hervorragende Produkte gebaut, die aber zum Teil auf Technologien basieren, die heute nur noch geringe Innovationspotentiale besitzen. Der Einsatz globaler Strategien und der Grad der Internationalisierung sind - angesichts der starken Abhängigkeit von der Auslandsnachfrage - auffallend niedrig. Japanische Unternehmen sind zur Zeit dabei, Standorte in der EG auf- und auszubauen. Die Präsenz deutscher Unternehmen ist im Mittel auf den europäischen Auslandsmärkten nicht hoch genug, um daraus einen Vorteil gegenüber der japanischen Konkurrenz ziehen zu können. Auf den Volumenmärkten sind allerdings die Chancen, den Herausforderungen des Gemeinsamen Marktes erfolgreich zu begegnen, durch die deutsche Vereinigung sogar größer geworden.
