Struktur und Entwicklung der Musikwirtschaft

Abstract

Die Studie untersucht, inwieweit die Potentiale der Musikwirtschaft in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland in höhere Umsätze, mehr Einkommen und mehr Arbeitsplätze umgesetzt werden können. Am Beispiel ausgewählter Musikbereiche erfolgt eine Analyse der Entwicklung und ihrer Zukunftsperspektiven. Eine zentrale Rolle fällt den Musikverlagen und Tonträgerherstellern zu. So haben 1988 fünf der größten steuerpflichtigen Musikverlage Westdeutschlands mehr als 23 % des gesamten inländischen Branchenumsatzes erwirtschaftet und 1989 wurden an die Endverbraucher der damaligen Bundesrepublik Tonträger im Werte von 3,7 Mrd. DM verkauft. Die gesamte Nachfrage nach Gütern und Dienstleistungen der Musikwirtschaft wird in den nächsten Jahren wesentlich durch vier Faktoren bestimmt sein: 1. Die Entwicklung des Nettoeinkommens; 2. Das Auftreten neuer Produkte; 3. Den Zuwachs an Freizeit sowie 4. die Vereinigung Deutschlands und den EG-Binnenmarkt. Insgesamt gesehen kann für die Musikwirtschaft trotz einiger Strukturprobleme mit außerordentlich günstigen Entwicklungsperspektiven gerechnet werden.
