Zwanzig Jahre Innovationsforschung im ifo-Institut und zehn Jahre ifo-Innovationstest

Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über die Innovationsforschung im ifo-Institut und beschreibt die Hauptmerkmale des ifo-Innovationstests. Außerdem zeigt er einige Ergebnisse aus den Innovationserhebungen der vergangen zehn Jahre. Sie zeigen, daß sich von 1979-1989 die Innovationsdynamik der deutschen Industrie erheblich verstärkt hat. Während Anfang der achziger Jahre erst knapp zwei Drittel der Unternehmen Innovationen realisierten, hat sich der Anteil seit 1987 bei rund drei Viertel stabilisiert; dabei konnten die Großunternehmen ihre Stellung ausbauen. Die Innovationsaufwendungen des verarbeitenden Gewerbes haben sich von 1980-1988 nominal von 56,5 auf 92,7 Mrd. DM erhöht; real entspricht das einer Steigerung um 35%.
