DDR : Kaufkrafteffekte durch Währungsunion ?

Abstract

In einer Modellrechnung wird gezeigt, daß sich durch die beschlossene Wirtschafts- und Währungsunion für den durchschnittlichen DDR-Bürger - auf der Basis seines bisherigen Warenkorbes - keine gravierende Kaufkraftänderung ergeben dürften. Berücksichtigt man jedoch, daß durch die Einführung der D-Mark der Anteil preisgünstiger - westlicher - Güter am DDR-Warenkorb zunehmen wird, so werden per Saldo für alle Verbrauchergruppen spürbare Kaufkraftgewinne zu verzeichnen sein. Infolge des niedrigen DDR-Mietpreisniveaus dürfte die Kaufkraft der D-Mark in Händen der DDR-Bürger sogar beträchtlich höher sein, als bei den westdeutschen Verbrauchern.
