Abstract

Der Beitrag geht der Frage nach, inwieweit die ostdeutsche Industrie und insbesondere die sächsischen Unternehmen die im Jahr 2000 höheren Verkaufserlöse und die verbesserte Ertragslage für eine Erhöhung der Innovationsanstrengungen genutzt haben. Die Befunde deuten darauf hin, dass bisher kein spürbarer Innovationsschub eingetreten ist. Das ist nicht unbedenklich, da innovationsstarke Unternehmen eindeutig wachstums- und ertragsstärker sind und häufiger die Beschäftigung ausweiten.
