Abstract

Das technologische Engagement der Unternehmen in Ostdeutschland weist eine positive Entwicklung auf. Die 1993 erreichte Talsohle der Forschungs- und Entwicklungstätigkeit ist längst durchschritten. Im Vergleich zu den anderen neuen Bundesländern sind die Aussichten in Sachsen, auf Dauer durch weitere technologische Anstrengungen zu Erfolgen zu gelangen, als relativ gut einzuschätzen. Dies darf nicht über die Tatsache hinwegtäuschen, daß trotz der seit Jahren steigenden Tendenz die Technologieorientierung ostdeutscher Unternehmen immer noch auf geringem Niveau verharrt. Auch legen die technik- und branchenspezifischen Entwicklungen der Patentanmeldungen nahe, daß die Forschungs- und Entwicklungsergebnisse im wesentlichen auf Bereiche der Standardtechnologien und der höherwertigen Technik begrenzt bleiben.
