Abstract
This paper analyzes the impact that each legal form of doing business in Romania has on a doctor activity. The paper contains a comparative analysis of the possibilities for a medical graduate to run a business. The objectives are formulated around key questions aiming to highlight the differences and the impact of each legal form: costs, taxes, accounting, employment opportunities, management flexibility, benefits for the owner etc. All these aspects play an essential role in making the decision to turn a business in the medical field into reality. The paper refers to an example of a real business, medical practice in a rural area specialized in family medicine. From the comparative analysis of administrative costs, it is observed that liberal professions have lower tax obligations and simplified accounting. limited liability companies have a stricter tax regime, advantages in terms of tax optimization, and control over revenues. Even though a liberal profession ensures greater autonomy and offers the possibility of a direct relationship with clients, a limited liability company provides a much more credible image and greater opportunities for business development. Considering the frequent changes in the legislative framework in Romania the results obtained cannot be applied in the long term.
