Analyze Of Environmental Performance In Romania Based On Environmental Performance Index

Abstract

This article presents some interpretations of the results of calculated EPI for 2014.The paper didn’t aim EPI assesment, but it wanted to present an analyze of the main results obtained by the European Commission. Also, a correlation anlyze of GDP/capita and overall score of EPI was performed , showing the link between these two indicators, showing a moderate direct link between these two indicators. Also, a comparison between Romania and Switzerland was performed. This comparison revealed that Romania ranks over Switzerland in terms of agriculture, and the largest gap between the two countries was recorded in the field of water resources and water and sanitation. The paper concludes with Romanian situation.
