Using the Bank Lending Survey to Understand the Recent Disruption to Financial Markets: An Overview

Abstract

The main focus of this article is to illustrate how the responses to the Bank Lending Survey reflect the disruption to financial markets that dominated the euro area during 2008 and 2009.
