Les agriculteurs africains entre vulnérabilité et résilience. Pour une approche par les capabilités de la gestion des risques

Abstract

This article goes beyond the usual distinction between risk and uncertainty, thanks to a conceptual framework based on the capabilities approach. This framework explores the implications of a sequence associating risks, capabilities, vulnerability and resilience. Above all it makes it possible to study poor peasant risk management strategies, to focus on the subjectivity of vulnerability, and to highlight the constraints on innovation and the poverty traps dynamics linked to this vulnerability.
