Abstract

Coordination steaming from negative dimensions of geographical proximity is mostly viewed under the angle of conflicts. Nevertheless, land use conflicts ? and their counterpart in terms of dialogue ? are not the only means of action for co-localized agents. Strategies of relocation or strategies of avoidance are also adapted responses. This paper shows the interest of the exit-voice diptych to understand more globally actor?s strategies, and grasp finely territorial dynamics. To illustrate this comment, oyster farming is analyzed. Indeed, oyster farming is a productive activity faced to varied localized problem of coordination. More precisely, the strategies implemented by oyster farmers on two particular spaces on French coast are studied : the Marennes-Oléron Bay, where the problem of freshwater supply involve strategies of exit ; and the Arcachon Bay, where the problems of water quality involve strategies of voice.
