Abstract

This article shows that the multidimensional Gini index is more complete than its unidimensional configuration in order to compute the contribution of each group to the overall inequality. In Languedoc-Roussillon, it indicates that the disparities are particularly generated by wage differences between the regions and gender and confirms the opposite relation between the inequalities and poverty. Classification JEL : D63, D31, C10.
