Les vents contraires de la croissance française

Abstract

Robert Gordon, qui fut un sceptique de la nouvelle économie il y a deux décennies, prédit dans un article publié en 2012 que la croissance américaine pourrait quasiment disparaître sous l’effet de six « vents contraires » : démographie, inégalités, éducation, mondialisation, coût de l’énergie et dette seraient autant de marqueurs de la perte vitesse de l’économie américaine. Sans nous livrer au même exercice de chiffrage que Gordon, nous tentons d’évaluer la nature, l’intensité et la direction des vents contraires qui pourraient, dans la perspective de moyen-terme chère à Gordon, contrarier la croissance française. Nous concluons sur cinq recommandations.
