14. L'aide aux personnes âgées n'est-elle qu'une affaire de femmes ?

Abstract

Women are more likely to provide elderly care than men, both because they are more concentrated in related service jobs and more engaged in domestic care. This is partly explained by gender norms, which lead women to get more involved in these activities. There are, however, various configurations around these norms, which make different kinds of involvement happen. Furthermore, ongoing demographic changes as well as gender norms changes could foster the participation of men in caregiving.
