Abstract

In this context of global economic crisis, coupled with an ecological one, attractiveness of the region is more topical than ever, but at the same time, governments must deal with citizen and scientist pressures about well-being of individuals and the environment. Because of this, it seems interesting to compare measures of attractiveness of territories and sustainable development and build a new one, an indicator of sustainable attractiveness. In introduction, we connect both concepts of sustainable development and attractiveness. Then, indicators of attractiveness and indicators of sustainable development are described and we discuss how they can be assessed (Part 1). Next, methods of construction are analyzed (Part 2) and we finally examine how we could build, ideally, an indicator of sustainable attractiveness (Part 3).
