Abstract

The increasing role of Islam in world politics is one of the most striking phenomena of contemporary international relations. The main aim of this paper is to research the influence of Islamic religion in world politics based on the analysis of the developmental tendencies of the Islamic factor in contemporary international relations, especially with regard to the political and economic context. Based on the historical genesis and current position of Islam in the world indicated in this paper, we can reflect the potential of the growing significant impact of Islamic religion in the context of the future international political process. The aim of the paper is also to clarify the key concepts associated with the growing influence of Islam in the world, as a clear definition of the used terms is considered to be a key starting point for the scientific research of the issue.
