Abstract

The article presents the results of the research of the dependence between changes in population structure and economic development in the Republic of Moldova. The use of econometric method allowed to evaluate the quantitative impact of age changes in population on the value of GDP as the main macroeconomic indicator of sustainable economic development. In the process of the research, the multi-factor regression model was elaborated, which allows to assess the relationship between age groups in population and GDP (age structure of population and economic growth). Based on the results obtained, recommendations for improving public socio-economic policies in the Republic of Moldova were developed.
