Eine „relativ primitive Sache“?: Prinzipien und Leitmotive im wirtschaftspolitischen Denken Konrad Adenauers und Ludwig Erhards

Abstract

Welche Prinzipien und Leitmotive Ludwig Erhard und Konrad Adenauer verbanden und an welchen Stellen sich Divergenzen ergaben, wird in diesem Beitrag näher beleuchtet. Als Basis dient die „Rhöndorfer Ausgabe“ der Edition „Konrad Adenauer, Ludwig Erhard und die Soziale Marktwirtschaft“, in der zahlreiche Quellen aus den Apparaten der Bundesregierung erstmals publiziert werden. Eine Besonderheit der Quellen – Briefe, Memoranden, Gesprächsprotokolle – besteht darin, dass sie keinen vorrangig ideengeschichtlichen Zugang zur Sozialen Marktwirtschaft bieten, sondern vielmehr die politische Praxis darlegen. Diese Perspektive wird anhand zahlreicher Beispiele wie der Kartell- und Mittelstandspolitik, der Rentenreform von 1956/57 sowie der Diskussion um Methoden und Ziele der Konjunkturpolitik verdeutlicht.
