Application of stratified sampling for regional estimation of forest area in Ukraine using global forest maps

Abstract

Confidence intervals for area estimates for 21 administrative regions of flat part of Ukraine based on Global Forest Change (GFC) dataset were derived. It was found that GFC-based maps can be used for stratification of the territory and estimation forested area by statistical methods
