Environmental imperatives of the livestock industry development

Abstract

This paper deals with generalization of statistical data on the number of livestock and poultry and production of major livestock products in Ukraine by categories of farms and presents them in dynamics for 1990-2015. It was found that the production of beef, milk, wool, honey is concentrated on households. The author highlights the environmental issues related with large livestock facilities and suggests measures to prevent negative impact of pig complexes on living conditions of the rural population
