Abstract

The change in the natural and ecological conditions in the area of the Ukrainian Polissya led to the massive spread of adventitious species of weed vegetation, one of the representatives of which is the goldenrod (Solidago canadensis). To date, it has not yet been sufficiently cleared about the settlement of large areas of this species, in particular, the actual problem is the environmental monitoring of the range of Solidago canadensis near the very city of Zhytomyr and in general in Zhytomyr region. Consequently, the monitoring of concentrations of Solidago canadensis was carried out, the spatial structure of Zhytomyr city and Zhytomyr region was analyzed, as well as the spread of goldenrod in their various parts and biotopes, and the possibility of spreading this plant in the city and in the whole of Zhytomyr region was predicted.
