Estimación de un índice de presiones cambiarias

Abstract

Tras una revisión de la literatura concerniente a crisis cambiarias, se realiza un mapeo de todas aquellas variables y fundamentos que determinan las condiciones sobre los mercados cambiarios a nivel general. En base a ello, la investigación tiene como objetivo estimar un índice de presiones cambiarias que deberá resumir la información contenida en dicho set. El objetivo se aborda a partir de dos enfoques: el primero, con carácter exploratorio, hace referencia a un análisis de tipo estadístico; el segundo considera un enfoque econométrico con la estimación de un modelo VAR aumentado por factores y con parámetros que cambian en el tiempo (TVP-FAVAR). Bajo este contexto, se espera que el índice otorgue una medida de las presiones que son relevantes para el mercado cambiario boliviano
