Estimando fricciones nominales y reales para Bolivia

Abstract

En una economía pequeña y abierta, se presentan varias fricciones nominales y reales que generan distorsiones en la función de bienestar económico social. El objeto del presente trabajo es estimar la duración y magnitud de estas rigideces mediante un modelo DSGE para la economía boliviana; luego, se analiza las fuerzas y mecanismos que inciden en la trayectoria de las principales variables de interés a través de la Función Impulso Respuesta. En este sentido, se estima parámetros de reacción del sector fiscal y monetario ante distintos shocks que se presentan en la economía. Los principales resultados muestran que las rigideces de salarios y precios son elementos importantes para diseñar las políticas económicas en Bolivia. Por otro lado, los shocks analizados sugieren que las políticas fiscal y monetaria deben ser coordinadas en la ejecución de sus instrumentos para alcanzar sus objetivos de forma eficiente y simultánea.
