Open Letters to Governments — British arid German Style

Abstract

On 30 March last, 364 of the United Kingdom'sacademic economists, roughly a quarter of those who teach economics in British universities, gave the media something not too taxing to talk and write about. They published an open letter to the British Government. Fifty five of the 60 members of the economics faculty at Cambridge University signed the letter. The full text read as follows.
