Some Statistical Aspects of Preference and Related Tests

Abstract

In the first part of this paper Dr Bliss outlines the nature and purpose of preference tests and, without claiming to give a complete survey, discusses some suitable experimental designs. He then points out the advantages of analysing separately the results from subjects with consistent preferences and those from subjects with no consistent preferences. Finally, he describes statistical methods for the study of sensory thresholds.
