La Balanza de Pagos y la Posición de Inversión Internacional de España en 2024

Abstract

Motivación La Balanza de Pagos y la Posición de Inversión Internacional (PII) resultan de especial interés en un entorno internacional como el actual, de creciente incertidumbre y tensiones comerciales y geopolíticas. Además, los datos frente a Estados Unidos son especialmente relevantes en este contexto. Ideas principales En 2024, la capacidad de financiación de la economía española alcanzó un 4,2 % del PIB, su máximo desde el inicio de la serie actual, 1995, debido a la mejora del saldo comercial y a la evolución positiva de los servicios turísticos. La PII neta deudora continuó disminuyendo en 2024, hasta situarse en el -43 % del PIB, el nivel más bajo en 22 años, como consecuencia del avance del PIB y del importe positivo de las transacciones financieras con el exterior. La corrección acumulada de la PII neta deudora entre su nivel máximo de 2009 y el de 2024 se explica por la evolución de la del sector financiero, por la inversión de cartera y por el superávit turístico acumulado en esos años.
