Abstract

This article revisits the poetic ingenuity of Imru’ al-Qais through a focused rhetorical investigation into the metaphorical imagery of his poem Umm Jundub. While his Mu‘allaqa has long attracted critical attention as a canonical pre-Islamic masterpiece, Umm Jundub remains relatively understudied despite its equally rich stylistic texture and its unique narrative tension.
