Abstract

The rapid expansion of internet access in Bangladesh has brought significant opportunities for communication, education, and economic growth. However, this digital transformation has also given rise to a host of challenges, particularly concerning the misuse of internet platforms. This study explores the multifaceted nature of internet misuse in contemporary Bangladesh, focusing on issues such as cyber bullying, online fraud, misinformation, data privacy violations, and the exploitation of social media. By analyzing recent incidents, legal frameworks, and public awareness levels, the paper highlights how unregulated or malicious online activities are impacting individuals, communities, and national security. The research also discusses the role of law enforcement, digital literacy, and policy reforms in addressing these concerns. Ultimately, this study aims to contribute to a more informed discourse on responsible internet use and the need for balanced digital governance in Bangladesh.
