Correlating Instructional Effectiveness and Community Involvement of Public Secondary Teachers

Abstract

This study explored instructional effectiveness and community involvement among public secondary school teachers, and examined differences across demographic profiles. It also analyzed the relationships among these professional domains to provide a holistic view of their interconnectedness. Using descriptive-associational design, 220 teachers were randomly selected from 510 in the one of the divisions in Western Visayas during the 2025–2026 school year. Findings revealed very high instructional effectiveness across domains, and strong community involvement, with communication rated highest. Instructional effectiveness and community involvement did not significantly differ by demographic variables. Correlation analysis showed a strong positive, highly significant relationship between instructional effectiveness and community involvement. These results highlight that strengthening one domain enhances the others, underscoring the importance of integrated professional development programs that simultaneously advance teaching effectiveness and community engagement among public secondary school teachers.
