Abstract

Tate Modern in Bankside, London is the most popular museum of modern art in the world. It is has become a destination attraction where visitors can experience the cavernous Turbine hall, visit the collection and exhibitions, shop and socialise. However, the Tate Modern project has also had a significant part to play in the physical and social regeneration of central and south London. This paper explores how the project has evolved to date, and the challenges we face in the future.
