The state of innovation in the supply chain

Abstract

In 2017, Kenco’s State of 3PL Innovation Survey found that despite hype around emerging technologies such as drones and driverless cars, the vast majority of supply chain leaders want to adopt technologies that are proven, reliable and will have a positive impact on their bottom line. They want innovation for today. This paper discusses Kenco’s revisiting of this topic in order to see if supply chain leaders have changed their tune, or if the technologies they define as ‘proven and reliable’ have shifted. The answer? Yes — slightly, heralding an upcoming change in technology adoption rates.
