Abstract

"Expert Systems" are computer programs, very popular in these days. They evolved from work on artificial intelligence and can do certain functions of human experts.They can be used as an assitant to help the experts and imitate them in many scientific fields. This article defines the "Expert System" thoroughly and describes its application and design. The article concludes with problems and weaknesses of "Expert Systems." At the end of The article there is a list of some Expert Systems that are in routine use of field testing.
